His Children

His Children comes by way of the devastation in the Sudan. In this image I seek the life presented by the hope of the children. My intentions were to use the shapes, color, and line to dramatize the hope associated with the assistance of the relief organizations coming to the rescue in the war torn region. The scriptures makes reference to how God feels about children. In Mark 9:37 " Whosoever shall receive one of such children in my name, receiveth me: and whosoever shall receive me, receiveth not me, but him that sent me. "

Down The Stretch

One of the greatest spectacles in sport is the finish of a horse race. This image was born by way of the Santa Anita race track in Southern California. I used a picture I snapped as the horses were turning to come down the homestreach. I try to use the color, shapes and line to define and capture the energy of the moment.

Jakes comes by way of a video of a message he was preaching. His emotion created such a dynamic I found it fiting to capture and draw it.

I created this image to highlight the victory by the U.S. Olympic Basketball team which achieved gold during the Summer Olympics in Beijing during August of 2008 My motivation in this piece was to create a dynamic that infused the form to produce the number 1 which is indicated by the finger at the top and center of the piece. I allowed the shapes and form to create the image.

E - Pluribus Unim

While watching the victory celebration on election night this phrase entered my mind. As a result this image was born. Originally suggesting that out of many colonies or states emerge a single nation, it has come to suggest that out of many peoples, races, and ancestries has emerged a single people and nation – illustrating the concept of the melting pot.

The image to the above left is of President Elect Obama the 44th President of the U.S. His office is powered by the people. What I tried to emphasize and identify with this image is the magnitude and importance of this election from a worldly perspective. Notice the U.S. Flag is a lot smaller than he is. Sometimes our dreams capture the essence of a world inspired to live in harmony with each other. It's greater than we can imagine.
