Ultimate Gift

In those days Caesar Augustus issued a decree that a census should be taken of the entire Roman world.
(This was the first census that took place whilea Quirinius was governor of Syria.)
And everyone went to their own town to register.
So Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to Bethlehem the town of David, because he belonged to the house and line of David.
He went there to register with Mary, who was pledged to be married to him and was expecting a child.
While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born,
and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no guest room available for them.
And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night.
An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified.
But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people.
Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord.
This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.”
Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying,
“Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.”
When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, “Let’s go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about.”
So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby, who was lying in the manger

Luke 2:1-16
The true meaning of Christmas for me rests on this beautiful witness in the gospel of Luke concerning the gift of God in His son Jesus the Christ. Just imagine the presence of the angels as they appeared to the Shepperd's with the news of the ultimate gift from God in the birth of the savior .
Of all of the gifts I received throughout my 57 years of life the one that has been the most amazing to me is the one received in the manger in the town of David. He is the Messiah, the Lord. Period. Amen! Hallelujah!!

Thankful

Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe,
for our “God is a consuming fire.”
Hebrews 12:28,29

On this Thanksgiving morning I am grateful for gift of God in the form of His son Jesus the Christ. As I head into this season of thanks I bless God for that the perfect eternal gift wrapped in the awesome love of Jesus which will last forever and ever. I am blessed for the power of the Holy Spirit which guides me in all truths concerning my life. I am blessed for the great love my family has shown me during this most difficult year. Most of all I am grateful and blessed with the grace, mercy and love afforded me from God the Father, Jesus the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Amen.

He is Everything

We who are Jews by birth and not sinful Gentiles

know that a person is not justified by the works of the law, but by faith in Jesus Christ. So we, too, have put our faith in Christ Jesus that we may be justified by faith in Christ and not by the works of the law, because by the works of the law no one will be justified.
“But if, in seeking to be justified in Christ, we Jews find ourselves also among the sinners, doesn’t that mean that Christ promotes sin? Absolutely not!
If I rebuild what I destroyed, then I really would be a lawbreaker.
“For through the law I died to the law so that I might live for God.
I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.

I do not set aside the grace of God, for if righteousness could be gained through the law, Christ died for nothing!”

Today my focus and blessing is rooted by my faith in Jesus Christ. No matter what happens if my attention is centered on my past failures and thinking then i cloud my vessel with the trash I should have let go the moment it became worthless to me.Today I will live according to the word of God for faith comes by hearing and comes by the word of God. Today my thought life will be centered on the word of God and the gospel of Jesus Christ. Amen

Judge

My conscience is clear, but that does not make me innocent. It is the Lord who judges me.
Therefore judge nothing before the appointed time; wait until the Lord comes. He will bring to light what is hidden in darkness and will expose the motives of the heart. At that time each will receive their praise from God. I Corinthians 4:4,5

Good Morning: Today is a beautiful and wonderful day in which the Lord has made. I am encouraged today that my conscience is clear and although it is clear it does not make me innocent. The writer of this piece of scripture has definitely reached me today. I will enter this day free to make a decision on who and what to choose. Good over evil, God over man. I choose God today in order that my seed and I can live. (Deuteronomy 3:19) Today I am free from making a judgement about anyone else's life. As indicated in the reference of scripture it implies that we judge nothing until the Lord comes. My prayer today is to keep me free of that judgement of others and myself in order to use my vessel to deliver the living water (Jeremiah 2:13) of Jesus the Christ. Amen.

Crisis

Then the Spirit of the LORD came on Jahaziel son of Zechariah, the son of Benaiah, the son of Jeiel, the son of Mattaniah, a Levite and descendant of Asaph, as he stood in the assembly.
He said: “Listen, King Jehoshaphat and all who live in Judah and Jerusalem! This is what the LORD says to you: ‘Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army. For the battle is not yours, but God’s.
Tomorrow march down against them. They will be climbing up by the Pass of Ziz, and you will find them at the end of the gorge in the Desert of Jeruel.
You will not have to fight this battle. Take up your positions; stand firm and see the deliverance the LORD will give you, Judah and Jerusalem. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. Go out to face them tomorrow, and the LORD will be with you.’ ”

Jehoshaphat bowed down with his face to the ground, and all the people of Judah and Jerusalem fell down in worship before the LORD                                                           2 Chronicles 20:14-18
Today  I am surrounded by a plethora of circumstances and challenges which are overwhelming me. Today I am in a crisis.  There is a sense of powerlessness and an inability to reason with these challenges. There is an amount of insecurity and fear that is present with me today.  I do not know what to do. I do not know anyone who can help me. Today I understand and know that God allows these circumstances and crisis so that he can demonstrate that he alone is God. These situations allow me to know the living God. It is in this experience that God will allow me the opportunity to seek His face and His face alone. It is Him alone that can overwhelm the forces that are challenging me. Today I understand and know that although my feelings and fear are present they can never override my faith. I know Lord that you have the final word and say concerning these challenges. You, Lord, are ruler over Heaven and Earth. You are sovereign and you will rule forever and ever. Today I present it all to you because the battle is not mine it is your Lord.  Hallejuah !!Amen.

Light

For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.
Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son.
This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but people loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil.
Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that their deeds will be exposed.

But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what they have done has been done in the sight of God. John 3:17 - 21
What a blessing to wake up on this rainy October day not condemned by the evil of this world but by faith risen into the marvellous light of our Lord Jesus the Christ. Today lets encourage a life by being exposed to the light in our attempts to be like Christ. To all of us who believe let's entertain the notion that our actions will determine our outcomes based on our assurance of the love of God through the awesome sacrifice of our Lord Jesus the Christ.  Today come into the light that by faith so that our deeds will expose the darkness and lead others into the marvellous light. Scripture (1 Peter 2:9) encourages us to come out of the darkness and into his wonderful light. Amen

Live

This day I call the heavens and the earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live

and that you may love the LORD your God, listen to his voice, and hold fast to him. For the LORD is your life, and he will give you many years in the land he swore to give to your fathers, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Deuteronomy 30:19,20

Hallelujah Today this September 23, 2017, I have made a conscious and prayerful decision to choose life according to the word of God.  Throughout the months and years while contributing to this blog and my life it is when I choose the LORD my testimony results in living. Recently there have been many challenges concerning the"Living " portion of my existence but until I choose the Lord as my life my conclusions result in death instead of life. There is no mystery in the passage of scripture I choose as the foundation of this piece of writing. It reminds us that when we choose to live we choose the LORD.  No questions asked. The writer of Psalm 34 presents us with a challenge which is to taste and see that the Lord is good. In that challenge, he also reminds us that we are blessed when we take refuge in Him while those of us who fear Him lack nothing. (Psalm 34:8,9). It when our holiness (being set apart)  provides us with the atmosphere to truly live life according to the will of God and not the life the god of this world chooses for us. Every day my prayer is to live a life according to the will of the Father and not the choice of men period. Amen

Mourn

Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted. ..........Matthew 5:4
Everyday we all mourn the many challenges presented to us on a daily basis. Mourning doesn't always mean the dead. You can mourn the circumstance of your life which come in many forms. Relationships usually account for many moments of mourning  for instance break ups, divorces, domestic violence, employment incidences and most of all the unexpected momements when those individuals who were apart of you life and no longer here.
For those of us who are of the Christian faith comfort comes by way of God the father, Jesus the son, and the Holy Spirit. When those challenges come by virtue of our daily lives fall on your knees and encounter the blessing afforded to us by a tri un God who is available at all times. Amen

The Power

Back in 2002 I took a picture of the horses coming around the last turn heading for home at the Del Mar racetrack near San Diego ,California. While watching the Kentucky I was reminded of the power, speed and beauty associated with one of God's beautiful creatures the horse and His greatest man.

Love

Love suffers long and is kind: love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up;
does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil;
does not rejoice in iniquity,but rejoices in truth;
bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things
I Corinthians 13:4-7

As we witnessed the peaceful transfer of power on Jan 20 we also witnessed the end of a love walk by a President who centered his administration around the love of country. The issues we face as a country manifest themselves in the foundation of division which is championed by a administration who holds this nations greatness in contempt. To dismiss the greatness of the American people who during the Obama administration have done many great things is appalling. The evil that is being extrapolated from the Trump Administration is apparent with the people he has surrounded himself with. His idea of making America great again is born out of the miss representation and the lie of America which was represented in the early years of his life. Love moves us forward. Hate sends us back. My prayer is that love will endure. Amen.
